DWR announced the opening of the 45-day public comment period on the public draft of the California's Groundwater: Bulletin 118 - Update 2025 (CalGW Update 2025). This legislatively-mandated report provides a comprehensive assessment of statewide groundwater conditions and incorporates information from GSA annual reports, California’s Groundwater Live, and other groundwater initiatives since 2020. The public comment period closes on December 5, 2025.
All comments will be reviewed to provide valuable feedback to DWR to improve the analysis, reporting and access to California’s groundwater information.
The final version of the CalGW Update 2025 document is expected to be released in Spring 2026.
