The truck mounted CPT rig is used to characterize the shallow subsurface materials (up to 100 feet deep) by pushing a metal rod with tip mounted instruments into the ground. The information gathered with these techniques will be used to characterize the shallow groundwater hydrogeology in the study area and can assist in the creation of groundwater sustainability plans as part of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.
