Public Comment Period Opens for Riverine Stewardship Program

San Joaquin Fish Population Enhancement & Urban Streams Restoration Grants Draft Guidelines and Proposal Solicitation Package

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) announced the opening of the public comment period for the Riverine Stewardship Program: San Joaquin Fish Population Enhancement Program (SJFPEP) & Urban Streams Restoration Program (USRP) Grants Draft Guidelines and Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP).

The public comment period began on January 28, 2019 and will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019. Following review of the public comments, DWR will release the final guidelines and solicit proposals.

The draft guidelines and PSP, as well as detailed information on the solicitation rules, procedures, and process can be accessed at the Riverine Stewardship Program – Grants webpage.

DWR will grant funds through the Riverine Stewardship Program’s subprograms, URSP and SJFPEP, for planning and implementation of projects that restore streams, creeks, and rivers to enhance the environment for fish, wildlife, and people.

Comment Period

Public comments can be submitted for the Draft Guidelines and PSP by one of the following methods:

4. Participate in one of our three public meetings in person.

DWR is hosting three workshops to present the program and its Draft Guidelines and PSP, and to receive feedback from the public. Workshops will be tentatively scheduled during the week of March 4, 2019 and the workshop locations and details will be announced soon.

Notices of the release of the Draft Guidelines were sent via email to potential applicants and interested parties. Future notices will include new solicitations, document releases, upcoming workshops, and other Riverine Stewardship Program announcements.
