The Department of Water Resources (DWR) was notified today that the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) submitted DWR’s Oroville spillways reimbursement appeal to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) urges people to avoid physical contact with the water at Silverwood Lake in San Bernardino County until further notice and avoid eating fish from the lake due to the presence of blue-green algae.

DWR and the Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) announced that the Feather River Fish Hatchery in Oroville will close to the public starting on July 9 for approximately four weeks for routine maintenance and inspections.

DWR today announced contractors will begin road work on Oroville Dam Blvd East and Glen Drive on July 15 to improve the roadway surface impacted by installation of a new fiber optic conduit from the Operations and Maintenance Center at the Oroville Field Division to the Hyatt Powerplant Complex.
