Project WET Workshop - Stockton

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR), San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC), and the California Project WET invite educators who work with students in 5th through 12th grades for a workshop learning about California’s groundwater and Project WET curriculum training.

Learn from DWR experts about California’s groundwater resources and the role it plays in California’s water supply, including in the San Joaquin region. Additionally, you’ll learn about educational resources from DWR that will support water and groundwater education in your classroom.

You’ll get down and dirty with hands-on activities from Project WET to bring groundwater and other water resource topics to your classroom. The interdisciplinary activities supplement existing curriculum, are correlated to Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, and provide strong foundations for STEAM, Project-Based, and Service-Learning programs.

For a $25 registration fee, participants will receive:

  • An introduction to what groundwater is and the crucial role it plays in California.
  • An opportunity to interact with experts from DWR’s Groundwater Research staff.
  • A copy of the Project WET Guide 2.0.
  • Continental breakfast and lunch.
  • An opportunity to receive 0.8 CEU credits and a $120 stipend following completion of the workshop.

Visit the ProjectWET event page for more information. Registration is required and closes at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026.
