Project WET Workshop - Visalia

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR), the Sequoia Environmental Education Directive (SEED), and the California Project WET program invite educators working with students in grades 3 through 12 for a workshop on climate change and its impact on California’s water resources.

Understanding climate change and its link to flood, drought, water quality, and more is crucial for all Californians. You will interact with DWR climate experts and engage in activities that will help your students understand the impacts of climate change on water and how to adapt to our changing environment. Project WET activities are designed to engage students in the study of water through interactive simulations, use of models, and reality-based scenarios.

The interdisciplinary activities supplement existing curriculum, are correlated to Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards, and provide strong foundations for STEAM, Project-Based, and Service-Learning programs.

For a $25 registration fee, participants will receive:

  • A copy of the new Project WET "Water in Earth Systems" curriculum guide,
  • A continental breakfast and lunch,
  • An opportunity to receive 0.8 CEU credit, and,
  • A $120 stipend following completion of the workshop!

Visit Project WET for more information. Registration closes Friday, March 13, 2026.
