The California Natural Resources Agency is no longer accepting proposals for round three of the Youth Community Access Program.
GRANT GUIDELINES CAN BE ACCESSED HERE. The Youth Community Access Grant Program, funded by the Youth Education, Prevention, Early Intervention and Treatment Account (YEPEITA), created by Proposition 64, seeks projects that support youth access to natural or cultural resources with a focus on low-income and disadvantaged communities. This includes, but is not limited to, community education and recreational amenities to support youth substance use prevention and early intervention.
Eligible applicants are local, state, and federal agencies; nonprofit organizations; and federally recognized Native American tribes. Eligible nonprofit organizations must be a 501(c) (3) public benefit corporation and incorporated for a minimum of two years. A fiscal sponsor may apply on behalf of a nonprofit that is not a qualified under 501(c) (3) organization, but the fiscal sponsor, not the nonprofit, must be the grant applicant.
Approximately $18.5 million dollars are available.
Awards are expected in the Fall of 2025. If awarded, project must be completed by March 2027.
Programs such as the Youth Community Access grant program help advance Outdoors for All, CNRA’s initiative that is expanding parks and outdoors spaces in communities that need them the most, supporting programs to connect people who lack access, fostering a sense of belonging for all Californians in the outdoors, and much more.
