The California Department of Water Resources prepared an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to evaluate the environmental impacts of the proposed San Joaquin Field Division (SJFD) Operations and Maintenance Center Drainage Culvert Replacement Project in Kern County. The proposed project is to replace the existing arch corrugated metal pipe culvert with a new concrete box culvert, improvements to the upstream and downstream flow channels, and improvements to the connection to an existing drainage swale.

The Draft IS/MND was submitted to the State Clearinghouse ([SCH] No. 2023120438) for public review from December 15, 2023 to January 16, 2024. The Department received no comments and certified the MND and adopted the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) on February 13, 2024. A Notice of Determination (NOD) was filed at the State Clearinghouse on February 14, 2024.
