Lookout Slough Tidal Habitat Restoration and Flood Improvement Project Public Scoping Meeting

Background:

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) is planning to prepare a Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Lookout Slough Tidal Habitat Restoration and Flood Improvement Project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

DWR has issued a Notice of Preparation (NOP) to provide responsible agencies, trustee agencies, and other interested parties with information describing the proposal and its environmental effects. Meeting Purpose:

The Public Scoping Meeting is an opportunity for the public to learn more about the project, the CEQA process, and to provide comments on the scope and content of the NOP to DWR. Comments can be provided in person at this meeting or submitted in writing by April 22 (see below).

Meeting Format:

1. Overview Presentation – DWR and consultants will describe the purpose of the meeting and provide an overview of the project and the public involvement process.

2. Informational Posters – Participants will have time to review posters with project details and ask clarifying questions to key project staff.

3. Public Comment – Interested parties who fill out a speaker card will be invited to make a public comment. Comments made during the Public Scoping Meeting will be transcribed by a court reporter and a written record of the Scoping Meeting will be prepared.

Providing Written Comments on the NOP:

Written comments on the NOP must be submitted to DWR by Monday, April 22, 2019 by 4 p.m PDT.
