Bethany Reservoir is located about 10 miles northwest of Tracy in Alameda County. The reservoir serves as a forebay for South Bay Pumping Plant and a conveyance facility in this reach of the California Aqueduct. Weather can be changeable; layered clothing is recommended.

Directions: Go seven miles off Interstate 580 and take the Grant Line Road exit.

Around Bethany Reservoir are hundreds of windmills, generating electricity from the region's windy conditions. Local anglers enjoy shoreline fishing, and the reservoir is a popular spot for windsurfing. Boat ramps and mooring, picnic areas, and restrooms (accessible for visitors with disabilities) are available.
